Tunneling & Backfilling

Tunneling is the generic definition of an application that includes a wide range of techniques used for the construction of tunnels.

In particular “backfilling” is a specific application on which, during the tunnel realization by a TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine), the annular gap, between natural soil/rock and external surface of the concrete lining, has to be filled by mean of a “bi-component” admixture in order to avoid dangerous settlements of the tunnel itself and of the surrounding volume.
